We recently help out on a project for Salford University. To promote MediaCityUK and the university a movie was to be projected on the side of a new building at the University campus. The movie was to fit exactly with the archtecture and reveal coded messages to be deciphered by viewers who can enter a competition online.
The work was produced at breakneck speed over just a couple of days including amends from client as we went..
The event was a great success and everyone was delighted with the results.. RTR – Job done..!
Our MD and DoP, Mark Oulson Jenkins, has been working in Sudan for the last six weeks, shooting a documentary regarding the recent elections there, which were the first to take place in twenty four years, following the end of the Sudanese Civil War in 2005.
It has been a tough adventure for Mark, with gruelling challenges facing him at every step of the way, including mine fields! However, it was most certainly worth it, having experienced and witnessed the hardships and difficulties of life which we can’t even begin to understand within the comfort of our ‘developed’ world.
‘Studio 11′ is a Recording Studio in Nelson’s ACE Centre. They wanted a promotional video to promote the high quality service they offer to all of their clients. Studio 11 @ the ACE Centre
Working alongside Andreas, the Studio Engineer, RTR Productions produced a music video within the confines of the studio itself, demonstrating the dynamic atmosphere available to both successful artists and up-and-coming local musicians.
We are very pleased and proud to announce that our MD and DoP Mark Oulson-Jenkins has been awarded a One World Media Award in the ‘Millennium Development Goals” catagory for his work on the film “Africa Rising.” Mark was the DoP (Director of Photography) for the film shot in Ethiopia in 2008 working with Jamie Doran of Clover Films.
Director Jamie Doran dedicated the award to the people of Sodo Region in Ethiopia who proved that, ‘given the opportunity, Africans will take themselves out of poverty.”

WINNER: Africa Rising – Jamie Doran, John Moffat, Mark Oulson-Jenkins; Clover Films for TG4
Imagine an Africa without thousands of Western aid workers telling Africans what to do; imagine an Africa where Africans are proving that they can take themselves out of poverty for a fraction of the cost spent by typical NGOs. With a cast of thousands, that’s the message of Africa Rising.
The judges said:
‘A superbly shot and uplifting film about poor people in a rural region of Ethiopia who get together to help themselves. The jury found this a compelling piece of work that drew the viewer into the heart of this community as it struggled to shake off a dependency culture. From an endearing woman dismissed as mad for starting a café in her bush village, to the candid money lender lamenting the loss of his profits from the poor, this rich and inspiring production had it all.’
We have won a commission by Brookfield Multiplex to produce their latest film detailing the latest construction and engineering feat of Strata, part of the regeneration of The Elephant and Castle. It is now the tallest residential building in central london. Shooting at the top of the 43 storey tower did involve a steady hand and a head for heights. Very high heights! We did experience what are probably the best views of London you could ever see.
